Mothering Sunday

The Suffolk Coast is the perfect place to celebrate Mother’s Day this March. With some of the UK’s finest food, served up in unique locations like the Butley Orford Oysterage, and wonderful days out for all the family – you’ll find something to suit everyone.

Why not explore the open skies of the coast and take a walk along one of our many beaches this Spring? Whether Walberswick, Aldeburgh, Southwold or Felixstowe there’s plenty to amuse the whole family. Take a trip to Southwold Pieror treat your mum to fish and chips on the beach in Aldeburgh, or perhaps be even more adventurous and explore the Thorpeness Boating Lake and its many intriguing islands.

Or how about treating your mum to spa day at Ufford Park Hotel and Spa near Woodbridge? Treatments on offer here include facials and massage treatments and the spa includes steam room, sauna and swimming pool.

For a Mother’s Day supper with a twist why not visit the Lady Florence River Cruise Restaurant in Orford? Diners enjoy picturesque views of the calm waters of the river Alde and Ore whilst enjoying fine food and wine onboard the Lady Florence.

If you’d prefer to stay on dry land then how about visiting Main’s Bistro in the picturesque village of Yoxford. This family-run bistro serves up fantastic suppers using the finest local ingredients. Situated in an old draper’s shop the restaurant is steeped in history and has a homely atmosphere. Perfect for a family meal out.

Whether it’s a bottle of White Burgundy from the Adnams Cellar and Kitchen or a necklace from the Amber Shop –Southwold is an excellent shopping destination this Mother’s Day.
